I feel like it’s so awesome how she’s just like “This is from Morocco, this is from Afghanistan, this is from eBay…” Love them so much, haha. I’ve always wanted her Princess Leia-inspired updo too. :P

8/22/2011 - Thing I love about myself #234: How I love being adorned.

I walked into work wearing a dress that I got at Ross recently that I absolutely love. It fits my body type really nicely and is colored with dark green, yellow, white, and black patterns. It fit my summery, neo-Bohemian style. So, as I do with all my Bohemian-ish clothes, I wore a lot of jewelry, including my favorite jingly hoops, a necklace I got from a carver in Germany made out of various underwater substances and decorated with two kukui nuts on the strands, and my quartet of rings that I like to wear. I got a lot of compliments at work about it all, particularly the necklace.

I’m inspired mainly by Tribal Fusion belly dancers and how adorned they are. I wish I had a deadly arsenal of accessories like them. Perhaps if that ATS teacher is still in SD when I move there after I graduate, haha. But I love how every piece they wears comes from a different place and even has a different story. That’s how I’d like my collection be. And I feel being adorned like this makes me feel that much closer to the kind of world I’d like to live in (that is, a world wear everyone dresses like Tribal Fusion belly dancers, haha).
