This is the final design for the next part of my thigh sleeve. The theme of the sleeve is family, as my family is very important to me! The meaning and importance of this part is my ancestors. Some of my ancestors were Romany gypsy’s, therefore I want this on tattooed on my thigh. I cannot wait and my tattoo is booked for friday :)

When you say “final design”, you of course mean you’ve taken a sketch from my friend Amy’s blog (which she states is inspired by contemporary bellydancers), flipped it, and forgotten to give her credit.

Gotta love art thieves!

As a performing Christian, it’s very hard to let go of the ego. After being with Amy Sigil in April, she really set my dance path right. My ego started to creep up on me again, and I asked God to finally help me out with the financial situation. A few minutes later, I heard AMTC was holding an auditioning in Lubbock. I signed up in the last time spot they had left! I’m mainly going for modeling and dancing, and this song will be edited for the one minute performance. It’s high time I start participating in my religion again. Tired of the dark spirits hanging in my house, tired of constantly being in a struggle, tired of trying to control my life to the fullest extent. This song is about God taking the lead of a performer instead of the performer taking the lead. And that’s what I plan to do. Let it all go and let God, as they say.

If I see one more of these, I’m going to scream

bridgettelizabeth:

Wanted: Uber-skilled choreographer, with qualifications, experience and versatility across a range of styles (classical ballet, tap, Afro-Haitian and some-obscure-recently-invented-street-style as a bare minimum). Must be dedicated and committed, and available over a long period of time, for location scouting, auditions, casting, development, rehearsals, filming/shows. Please apply with videos and references. No time-wasters please.

Payment: No pay.

You don’t get to ask someone at the top of their game to give you all of their time for nothing. As much as you’d like to think that dancers don’t eat, we kinda die if we don’t, and we also have bills to pay. And if you really don’t have the budget, you lower your expectations and don’t go thinking you deserve a professional. You offer profit-share or deferred payment, photo-shoots, show-reels, catering, references/testimonials, and not just the privilege of working with (name-drop your director). Because really, if they’re someone worth working with, they’ll know how to treat their creative team, and will understand that their name on someone’s resume is no substitute for payment. They’ll also understand that demanding so much time of someone means asking them to drop their paid gigs.

I’m a broke, independent dancer, and I managed to save up enough money to pay the choreographer of the show I produced by taking on a couple of extra jobs and working seven days a week for a few months. It sucked, but I wouldn’t dare ask someone to do their job without payment.

Ok, enough venting now. Back to the job applications…

These pants are still for sale!
Invisible drawstring waistband, giving it a minimal ride up compared to elastic! No more having to throw away pants that has elastic that breaks or degrades over time. A simple wrist flick takes the old string out and a little bit of patients to put the new one in!
They are also a true “one size fits all” fitting! You control the amount of pressure applied to your waist instead of hoping that the pants you got with elastic ”one size fits all” fitting fit you!
Pant leg width is about 2’!!!!
These pants are also steam iron friendly. No need to cringe at wrinkles!
100% cotton completely washable in your own washer! No need for a specialist! Toss them in and set to the “cotton” or “regular” setting! Same with the dryer! They are also very breathable and allow moisture to dry.
I’m also giving away a matching yard of fabric so you can create a set!

For Performing Belly Dancers

I recently made some bags designed specifically for those that do the performing arts.

They are made of cotton, so if anything gets spilled or leaked on them, they are completely washable. (ALL have had a previous wash and dry cycle so they are technically “preshrunk”.)

Inside there are three little pockets for jewelry, smaller props like zills, keys, wallets, phones and a larger pocket to keep items with fringe from getting tangled in everything or to keep your coins and chains from ripping more delicate parts of your costume. The interior can house large pants, a bra, a skirt, and all the bells and whistles that you need for your performance.

Most are 16 x 18 inches with six inch pockets and 14 inch larger pocket.

If you are interested, message me and I’ll be glad to share any more information. There is something for everyone!
