Dance is the enigmatic emotion.

queenofshiva reblogged your photoset: bigtimebellydance: I just heard some upsetting…

This is really cool but is slut shaming strippers? I would say that you’d want to be accepting of any kind of sexual…

She wasn’t slut shaming strippers. She was showing the difference between belly dance, which is shown to be as stripping in the US.

Most of the US dancers don’t see belly dance as sexual. At all. And rather get offended of people claiming it to be a sexual dance.

There are some that are prostitutes in the Mid East. Yes, I am aware that some see it as a provocative dance. But if you are a part of the dance, you also have to acknowledge that this isn’t a sexual dance. It can be sensual, but it’s not strictly so.

This is one of the reasons why she posted this. We don’t see ourselves as sexual dancers and rather get angry when people compare us as so. We see ourselves as part of a beautiful community with whole support from other women to be beautiful as ourselves.

We don’t dance for men’s pleasure. We don’t dance for anyone’s pleasure but our own.

Don’t say that we are strictly a sexualized dance.
